Job summary

Jewson in Tiverton is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager who loves delivering great service. You will support the Branch Manager, lead a small team, and develop strong customer relationships.

We offer a competitive salary, staff discounts, life assurance and 34 days holiday (including bank holidays). Hours: 7:00–16:30 or 7:30–17:00, Monday to Friday, with every other Saturday morning.

Qualifications

• Proven background in sales with a track record of meeting/exceeding targets.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Ability to build, develop and maintain relationships.
• Knowledge of building materials would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as first line support to the Branch Manager and lead the team to deliver success.
• Know product lines and services to maximize customer interactions.
• Develop relationships with new and existing customers, providing proactive advice and solutions.
• Understand the local market to support sales growth plans.
• Use in-house systems to process orders, organise delivery times and update customers.
• Maintain stock levels with regular counts.
• Lead the team in Health & Safety awareness.

Jewson is a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for an Assistant Branch Manager who's as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours: 7:00am - 16:30pm or 7:30am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8am-12pm

Location: Jewson, 2, Tiverton Business Park, Lowman Way, Tiverton, EX16 6SR.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as first line support to the Branch Manager to lead and support the team to deliver success.
• Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions.
• Develop great relationships with new and existing Customers (both face to face and over the phone), understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions so that you can deliver the best experience possible.
• Get to know the local market to support plans for sales growth.
• Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey.
• Maintain stock levels, carrying out regular stock counts.
• Lead your team to make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven background in Sales with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets.
• Strong communication to be able to provide great customer service.
• A passion for customer service.
• An ability to build, develop and maintain relationships.
• Industry experience / knowledge of building materials would be advantageous.
