Job summary

Warner Scott Recruitment is partnering with a Surrey-based professional services firm with an international presence to appoint an experienced Assistant Accounts Manager. This leadership role oversees client work, mentors junior team members, and delivers high-quality accounting and advisory services to a diverse UK and international client portfolio.

You’ll oversee management and statutory accounts, VAT, PAYE, and systems development, while building strong client relationships and contributing

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong technical and client-facing experience.
• Experience supervising and developing junior team members.
• Experience with UK and international client portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of management and statutory accounting (FRS 102).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and review UK and international management and statutory accounts.
• Provide guidance on accounting, VAT, PAYE and related matters.
• Review VAT returns (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Support startups and growing businesses with accounting needs.
• Assist with implementation and development of accounting systems.
• Manage financial reporting across entities (Ltd, LLP, partnerships, sole traders).
• Delegate work and train/mentor junior staff.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with a commercially focused service.
• Contribute to wider accounting projects and process improvements.
