Job summary

Clark Wood are working with a well-established firm of accountants in Surrey seeking an Accounts Manager to lead a diverse client portfolio within the Business Services team. You will prepare and review statutory and management accounts for UK and multinational clients, oversee VAT affairs, support start-ups, and mentor junior staff while fostering strong client relationships.

• Strong experience in statutory and management accounts within an accountancy practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts and management accounts for UK and multinational companies.
• Manage UK financial reporting for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders.
• Review VAT returns and advise on VAT and PAYE matters.
• Support start-ups with accounting and financial requirements.
• Assist with implementing accounting and computerised financial systems.
• Manage client relationships and provide advice across business matters.
• Delegate work to junior staff and review completed work.
• Train, mentor and support development of junior staff.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Clark Wood are currently working with a highly regarded and well-established firm of accountants who are looking to recruit an Accounts Manager to join their growing Business Services team in Surrey.

The successful candidate will work with an interesting and diverse client base across sectors including technology, luxury retail, motorsport, performance engineering, arts and antiquities, as well as a range of UK and international businesses.

The Role

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and management accounts for UK and multinational companies

• Reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual VAT returns and providing advice on VAT and PAYE matters
• Supporting start-ups with their accounting and financial requirements

The Candidate

Ideally, you will have:

• An ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent
