Job summary

Clark Wood are working with a well-established firm of accountants in Surrey seeking an Accounts Manager to lead a diverse client portfolio within the Business Services team. You will prepare and review statutory and management accounts for UK and multinational clients, oversee VAT affairs, support start-ups, and mentor junior staff while fostering strong client relationships.

ACA or ACCA is preferred; you will operate with a professional, proactive approach and help develop the team and ensure

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA or ACCA or equivalent.
• Strong experience in statutory and management accounts within an accountancy practice.
• Good knowledge of VAT and general business accounting matters.
• Strong client management and communication skills.
• Ability to delegate work effectively and support junior staff development.
• Excellent organisational and IT skills.
• Professional and proactive approach to client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts and management accounts for UK and multinational companies.
• Manage UK financial reporting for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders.
• Review VAT returns and advise on VAT and PAYE matters.
• Support start-ups with accounting and financial requirements.
• Assist with implementing accounting and computerised financial systems.
• Manage client relationships and provide advice across business matters.
• Delegate work to junior staff and review completed work.
• Train, mentor and support development of junior staff.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
