Job summary

Eden Motor Group in Wokingham is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our established accounts team. The role supports the Dealership Accountant, maintains timely financial records, and ensures accuracy across ledgers.

Candidates should have strong Excel skills, experience with Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, nominal ledger, and CDK/Kerridge; a flexible, team-focused approach is essential. A career in a forward-thinking motor retail environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable/receivable and general ledger processes.
• Familiarity with CDK/Kerridge is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Dealership Accountant in maintaining the smooth operation of the accounts department.
• Provide support to ensure accuracy of accounting records.
• Handle Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and other ledgers.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts to trial balance.
• Support VAT, fixed assets and audit schedules as needed.

Role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our established team at Eden Wokingham. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone looking to progress their career in a forward-thinking retail environment. The main purpose of the role will be to assist the Dealership Accountant in maintaining the smooth operation of the accounts department and to provide support in ensuring the accuracy of all accounting records. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge and experience in the following accounting areas:

• Sales Ledger
• Purchase Ledger
• Nominal Ledger
• Bank Reconciliations
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Credit Control
• Payments
• Cash Posting
• Debtor Reports
• Queries

They Should Also Have a Good Understanding Of

• Excel spreadsheets
• Management accounts preparation to trial balance
• VAT
• Fixed Assets
• Audit schedule preparation

This role will require excellent communication skills and a very flexible/adaptable attitude. Ideally you will have previous experience of working within a motor retail environment and have used CDK/Kerridge.
