Job summary

Last Mile is recruiting an Asset Compliance Coordinator to oversee wastewater asset adoption, liaising with developers, inspectors and design teams from agreement to vesting. This remote role includes monthly Cardiff office travel and a focus on compliance with company standards and regulatory criteria.

You will drive inspections, track defects and remedial actions, and maintain records to support timely asset adoption, with a proactive, collaborative approach and strong operational focus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate wastewater asset adoption activities from agreement through to final vesting, ensuring milestones are achieved within agreed timescales.
• Act as the primary point of contact for developers, asset inspectors and internal stakeholders, providing guidance and technical support.
• Manage inspection programmes, coordinate site visits and monitor compliance with adoption requirements and company standards.
• Track and resolve defects and remedial actions, proactively identifying risks to asset adoption.
• Support the smooth handover of wastewater assets into operational ownership and drive process improvements.

As an Asset Compliance Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing the wastewater asset adoption process, ensuring assets delivered by developers meet company standards, regulatory requirements and adoption criteria. Acting as the main link between developers, asset inspectors, design teams and operational stakeholders, you will coordinate inspections, monitor defects and remedial works, track compliance and maintain accurate records to support the successful adoption of assets into company ownership.

Using a proactive and collaborative approach, you will help drive the timely adoption of assets, manage compliance risks and ensure a smooth transition that supports the long-term operation of the wastewater network.

This is primarily a home-based position for candidates located close to Cardiff, with monthly travel to the office for team collaboration and meetings.

Your responsibilities as an Asset Compliance Coordinator:

• Coordinate wastewater asset adoption activities from agreement through to final vesting, ensuring milestones are achieved within agreed timescales.
• Act as the primary point of contact for developers, asset inspectors and internal stakeholders, providing guidance and technical support throughout the adoption process.
• Manage inspection programmes, coordinate site visits and monitor compliance with adoption requirements and company standards.
• Track and resolve defects, non-compliances and remedial actions, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to successful asset adoption.
• Support the smooth handover of wastewater assets into operational ownership while driving process improvements and delivering a flexible, efficient service.

Experience / Knowledge:

• Experience coordinating technical, compliance or engineering activities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across a range of audiences.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including maintaining accurate records and managing data effectively.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks, drive actions to completion and confidently use Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and SharePoint.
• Experience within the water or wastewater industry, with a strong understanding of wastewater networks and associated infrastructure (desirable).
