Asset-Based Lending Investment Professional – Vice President/Director (London)

We are currently working with a leading global alternative credit fund on the strategic expansion of their European Asset Based Lending (ABL) and private credit platform. As part of this growth, the firm is seeking to hire a high-calibre Vice President or Director/Principal to join their London-based investment team. The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will be a core member of the ABL investment team, responsible for originating, structuring, and executing bespoke private credit investments backed by a diverse range of asset classes. The fund has a flexible, opportunistic mandate, providing creative financing solutions to corporates, sponsors, and other counterparties across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the origination and evaluation of new asset-based lending opportunities across all sectors and asset types
• Leading financial analysis and credit underwriting, including detailed modelling, asset coverage analysis, and downside risk assessment
• Managing transaction due diligence processes, including third-party advisor coordination, legal documentation review, and credit paper preparation for internal committees
• Engaging directly with borrowers, sponsors, and intermediaries to negotiate deal terms and structure bespoke financing solutions
• Assisting with portfolio monitoring and asset management, including ongoing performance analysis, covenant compliance, and restructuring situations where required

Candidate Requirements:

• 6–10+ years of relevant experience within private credit, structured finance, or leveraged finance, ideally with direct exposure to asset-based lending or structured lending transactions
• Strong financial modelling, credit analysis, and transaction execution skills, with an ability to independently assess complex capital structures and asset pools
• Experience interacting with borrowers, sponsors, legal counsel, and third-party advisors throughout the deal process
• Highly motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
