Job summary

ESNEFT in Ipswich is recruiting an Assessor/Coach within the Apprenticeship Delivery Team to support clinical apprenticeships across sites. The role focuses on planning and delivering Level 2/3 apprenticeship training for staff development within the Trust.

You will collaborate with clinical colleagues to create apprenticeship opportunities, ensure timely progression, and contribute to ESNEFT’s 5-year business plan in a NHS environment.

Responsibilities

• Devise individual programmes in line with apprentice needs and their working area
• Coordinate on-programme elements and collate portfolio evidence
• Ensure mandatory training is mapped into the Apprenticeship framework
• Coordinate delivery of group teaching sessions as required
• Manage the learner journey and meet timelines (registration, qualifications, gateway, EPA)
• Regularly meet line managers to review progress and set targets

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join an established team as an Assessor/coach who are NMC or AHP registered within our Faculty of Education, working across all sites. Apprenticeships are increasingly important to the Trust , and you will work as part of the Apprenticeship Delivery Team to run this service to meet the Trust’s 5-year business plan.

TheAssessor/Coach is a key specialist role focussing on planning and delivery ofour clinical Apprenticeships training programmes, mainly at level 2 and level 3.

You will work with a diverse range of internal colleagues in clinical areas to create apprenticeship opportunities that enable staff to develop and progress, regardless of where they work in the Trust or the job they do.

Main duties of the job

• To work closely with the Lead Technical Trainer to devise individual programmes in line with the needs of the Apprentice and their working area
• Coordinate the ‘on programme’ element of the Apprenticeship and support collation of portfolio of evidence that showcases the Apprentice’s knowledge, skills and abilities to their best standard
• To ensure any mandatory training or internal training is mapped across in to the Apprenticeship to maximise and capture naturally occurring knowledge, skills and behaviours
• Coordinate the delivery of group based teaching sessions as and when required
• To manage the learner journey and ensure that mandatory timelines are met such as candidate registration, completion of mandatory qualifications, gateway and EPA requirements
• To meet regularly with the line managers to review progress and set targets in line with the programme delivery

Qualifications

• Good standard of education inc GSCE Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Minimum of level 3 vocational qualification relevant to the job role
• Assessor qualification: A1, TAQA, CAVA or a willingness to achieve within first 6 months of employment
• NMC or AHP registered
• A relevant teaching qualification at a minimum of level 3 or a willingness to complete within 2 years

Experience

• Recent experience of assessing in the workplace both knowledge and competencies
• Experience of working with Apprenticeship standards
• Working with and supporting a dedicated caseload of Apprentices
• Experience specifically related to the standards being delivered
• IQA responsibilities
