Job summary

Role Description The Assessor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chichester. The Assessor will support apprentices in Early Years and Health and Social Care by planning, delivering, and assessing learning in line with relevant standards and frameworks. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting workplace observations, reviewing evidence portfolios, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring that learners meet all assessment and compliance requirements. The Assessor will collaborate with employers to align training with workplace practice, maintain accurate records, and contribute to quality assurance processes. The role also involves advising learners on progression, safeguarding, and professional conduct, while promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant assessor qualifications (e.g., TAQA, A1, D32/D33) and experience assessing vocational qualifications in Early Years or Health and Social Care.
• Professional experience in Early Years or Adult Social Care settings, with up-to-date sector knowledge and understanding of apprenticeship standards.
• Strong communication, coaching, and mentoring abilities to guide and motivate learners at different levels.
• Organizational and time-management skills for planning assessments, managing caseloads, and maintaining accurate documentation.
• Working knowledge of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion, and a commitment to learner well-being and ethical practice.
• Competence in using digital tools and learning platforms for tracking progress, recording evidence, and reporting outcomes.
• Ideally holds a Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years, Health and Social Care, or a related discipline; teaching or training qualifications are an advantage.
• Ability to travel locally for workplace visits in and around West Sussex.
