Job summary

NVQ Assessor is seeking an experienced vocational teacher to deliver Health and Social Care Apprenticeship standards at Levels 2, 3 and 4, with potential Level 5 learners. You will plan, deliver and assess occupational training in line with funding guidelines.

You will monitor cohorts, develop resources, provide induction and ensure learners progress toward End Point Assessments, while working with quality teams and employer engagement to support progression.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Health and Social Care Apprenticeships.
• Ability to plan, deliver and assess occupational training to apprentices.
• Familiar with End Point Assessments and government funding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cohorts in line with company policy.
• Teach, train and develop learners and apprentices to meet standards.
• Ensure learners are reviewed and progress toward targets.
• Develop and maintain apprenticeship resources and inductions.
• Coordinate with QA and employer engagement teams to support progression.
• Contribute to audit paperwork and annual self-assessment.
• Support external quality visits from awarding bodies and End Point Assessment organisations.

Job description

Assisting learners through their Health and SocialApprenticeship, your role will be completely rewarding as you will see your candidates grow within their chosen careers to a successful level.

The successful candidate will be delivering the Health and Social Care Apprenticeship standards at Levels 2, 3, and 4 with the potential of some Level 5 learners.

The vocational teacher will plan, organise and deliver occupational training to apprentices and other vocational learners. The vocational teacher will be responsible for all aspects of the apprenticeship standard as well as functional skills delivery in the workplace. Ensuring the quality of delivery using the resources available to train, assess and tech apprentices to develop and achieve the End Point Assessment in line with government funding guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

• To monitor and manage the cohort of learners in line with company policy
• Teach, Train and develop learners and apprentices to ensure their work practices meet the Apprenticeship or occupational standards set.
• To ensure all learners are seen and reviewed in line with company policy and funders’ guidelines
• To develop and maintain resources in line with the Apprenticeship standard
• To ensure learners receive a thorough induction
• To ensure learners remain on target for achievement.
• To work with the Operations Manager to maintain the learner’s progress, reporting any issues timely.
• To work with Internal Quality Assurance to ensure learners’ work is to a high standard and any actions are addressed immediately.
• To work with Internal Quality Assurance for External Quality Visits from Awarding bodies and End Point Assessment Organisations
• To maintain occupational competence through CPD.
• To work with the Employer Engagement Team to promote the progression of learning once achievement has been reached.
• To work with the Admin Team to ensure audit paperwork is completed to a high standard.
• To contribute to the annual Self-Assessment Report
• To contribute to Staff Development days and sharing of good practices.
• Anything else deemed necessary by the company within reasonable circumstances.

PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE

When uploading this post we noticed a distinct lack of what we would consider required qualifications. To be an Assessor you would need to hold either an; A1/2, D32/33, or CAVA which we have a link to HERE . Similarly so, to be a FE practitioner, in other words, a Trainer, you should hold at a minimum the AET (Level 3 Award in Education and Training). The position does not ask for these so do not feel deterred to apply if you do not possess them. However, it is in our professional opinion you need to have either qualification before applying.
