Job summary

The University of Law is seeking an experienced Assessment Manager to lead the Results, Progression & Awards function across the University and its international partners. The role oversees publication of results, progression decisions, and graduation eligibility, driving quality and compliance in assessment outcomes.

Reporting to the Assessments team, you will manage a small team, coordinate with partner institutions, and optimize processes while ensuring robust governance and student-centred

Qualifications

• Experience of assessment, student records, course administration or similar environment.
• Experience in an educational environment with assessments or student records.
• Experience of team leadership and staff management.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure with good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with data handling abilities.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and large/complex databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small team of Business Professional colleagues, managing workload, performance and development.
• Lead the results publication, progression and awards processes across the University and partnership.
• Oversee Exam and Award Boards, results calculations, transcripts, certificates and graduation eligibility.
• Work with programme teams, collaborative partners and external examiners to ensure marking standards and assessment outcomes are managed.
• Develop strong operational relationships with collaborative partners and act as a key contact.
• Monitor partner performance against service levels and identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide expert advice on complex and non-standard assessment cases, regulations and policies.
• Support the integrity of assessments and awards, including academic misconduct processes.
• Act as a technical expert and superuser for assessment systems (Banner) and identify improvements.
