Job summary

The University of Law is seeking an experienced Assessment Manager to lead the Results, Progression & Awards function across UK, overseas campuses, and online provision. The role focuses on safeguarding assessment integrity, ensuring awards, and driving process improvements.

You will manage a team, oversee boards and communications with partners, and act as the system expert for assessment tools such as Banner, while supporting a hybrid working model with two days per week on campus.

Qualifications

• Experience in assessment, student records, course administration or similar environment.
• Experience in educational environments with assessments or student records.
• Proven leadership and staff management experience.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with data handling.
• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel and large/complex databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small team of professionals, manage workload and performance.
• Lead results publication, progression and awards processes across the University and partnership.
• Oversee Exam and Award Boards, results calculations, transcripts and graduation eligibility.
• Collaborate with programme teams, partners and external examiners on marking standards.
• Establish relationships with partners and act as escalation point.
• Monitor partner performance against service levels and identify improvements.
• Provide expert advice on complex assessment cases, regulations and policies.
• Act as a technical expert and superuser for assessment systems (e.g., Banner).
