Harvey Nash is recruiting an Assessment and Recovery Officer for the Revenues and Benefits team in Wolverhampton. The role operates in a hybrid working pattern, with responsibilities to assess housing benefit and council tax support, determine liabilities and support debt recovery actions.

You will respond to customers face to face, by phone and in writing, gather information to make sound decisions and ensure fair and accurate outcomes while remaining calm in sensitive situations.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in benefits, local taxation or debt collection.
• Strong organisation, accuracy and IT skills.
• Confident communication, negotiation and customer-service skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive or challenging situations.
• Current knowledge of relevant legislation or debt recovery procedures.

We are looking for an Assessment and Recovery Officer to join a busy Revenues and Benefits service. You will help ensure customers receive the right support, liabilities are assessed accurately and money owed is recovered fairly and effectively.
