Job summary

Kinetic plc in St Helens (North West) is seeking an Assembly Operative to join the manufacturing team. The role involves hands-on assembly of cabinets, panels and components in a fast-paced environment, reading technical drawings and following precise assembly instructions.

You will use hand tools and machinery safely, perform quality checks, and work to daily production targets. The position offers a permanent contract with standard site hours.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assemble cabinets, panels and components per drawings and specs.
  • Use hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Measure and check components during assembly.
  • Maintain quality checks and report defects.
  • Work to production targets and timescales.
  • Ensure safe handling of components and finished products.
  • Report equipment faults to Team Leader or Manager.
  • Keep workspace clean and safe in line with Health & Safety procedures.

Assembly Operative - St Helens, England, North West
Contract & Working Hours

Permanent | Monday-Thursday 7:00am-3:30pm, Friday 7:00am-12:30pm.

Salary

£24,804 per annum (£12.72 per hour).

Responsibilities
  • Assembling cabinets, panels and components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.
  • Using hand tools and machinery safely and effectively.
  • Following assembly instructions, drawings and production specifications.
  • Measuring and checking components during the assembly process.
  • Ensuring products are assembled correctly and to the required standard.
  • Carrying out quality checks and reporting any defects or issues.
  • Working to production targets and agreed timescales.
  • Safely moving components and completed products as required.
  • Reporting equipment faults or problems to the Team Leader or Manager.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping within the work area.
  • Following all company Health & Safety procedures.
  • Working as part of a team to meet daily production requirements.
What We Are Looking For - Essential
  • Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing or a similar hands-on production environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, diagrams or assembly instructions.
  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to set specifications.
  • Ability to work to production targets while maintaining quality.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Reliable and consistent approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Experience assembling cabinets, enclosures, panels, frames or similar products.
  • Experience working with metal or manufactured components.
  • Experience using drills, screwdrivers, spanners, rivet tools or other hand tools.
  • Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Important Information

This is a hands-on assembly role within a manufacturing environment. Candidates should have previous assembly or relevant manufacturing experience and be comfortable using hand tools and working from technical drawings or assembly instructions. This is not an electrical assembly role. The position focuses on the physical assembly of cabinets, panels and components within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate must be able to reliably get to the St Helens site for a 7:00am start.
