Job summary

Our client near Keighley is recruiting a Machine Tool Fitter / Assembly Technician to build and refurbish high-precision machine tools and sub-assemblies in both new build and aftermarket projects.

You will read engineering drawings and specifications to assemble, test, refurbish and rebuild components to tight tolerances, with shifts available and overtime paid at premium rates.

Qualifications

• Time-served with experience in precision assembly or machine build.
• Ability to assemble and test high-precision sub-assemblies to drawings and specs.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; hand-bend small-bore pipework.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and fluid diagrams (E-Plan).
• Experience refurbishing and rebuilding legacy assemblies; fault finding and parts lists.
• Strong precision assembly techniques and high-accuracy build processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

Job description

Due to continued growth we are recruiting a Machine Tool Fitter / Assembly Technician to join our leading client based near Keighley on a permanent basis. Successful candidates will ideally be time‑served to ensure that high‑precision assemblies and machine tools are built in accordance with supplied technical drawings and specifications; however, those with strong demonstrable assembly experience will also be considered. Candidates will be required to assemble, test, refurbish and rebuild high‑precision sub‑assemblies and complete machine tools, working across both new build and aftermarket refurbishment activities.

Standard Days – Monday to Friday, 07:45AM – 4:00PMShifts available on Earlies/ Lates/ Nights - Shift Premiums applyOvertime available – all paid at premium rates.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working within a precision assembly or machine build environment.
• The ability to assemble and test high‑precision sub‑assemblies to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including the ability to hand‑bend small‑bore pipework.
• The ability to read, understand and work confidently from engineering drawings and fluidic schematics (E‑Plan).
• Experience refurbishing and rebuilding legacy assemblies, including fault finding and producing replacement parts lists.
• A solid understanding of precision assembly techniques and high‑accuracy build processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving ability and exceptional attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining quality standards and working safely at all times.
