Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting an Aspiring SEND Teaching Assistant in the Slough area to support pupils with additional needs and help develop classroom skills. The role is a stepping stone for those considering teaching, educational psychology, or specialist SEND support.

You will work with teachers to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, promoting inclusive learning and adapting activities to individual needs. DBS Update Service is preferred, with training provided.

Qualifications

• A strong interest in SEND or education.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Patient, compassionate, and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a school setting.
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
• Assist with lesson activities and classroom support
• Promote pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Help adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
• Support the implementation of IEPs and behaviour strategies
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
