Job summary

Boughton Leigh Junior School invites applications for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to work with children with diverse needs including SEN and SEMH. The role is 30 hours per week, fixed term for 2 years, with progression to a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification on completion.

You will assist 1:1 and in small groups, form strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff, and support learning and wellbeing while maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• Empathetic, nurturing approach aligned with school ethos.
• Passion for supporting children with additional needs (SEND/SEMH).
• Able to work with diverse needs and adapt to individual child requirements.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills; energetic and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with pupils who have additional needs (SEND).
• Support small groups to aid learning and well-being.
• Maintain high standards and assist with planned learning activities.
• Prepare, maintain and use equipment/resources for activities.
• Build excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Be willing to become a First Aider and assist with personal care if required.
