Job summary

St Leonard’s Primary School in Langho is offering an Apprentice Teaching Assistant role within a supportive team. The position runs for 18 months, with a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship and ongoing remote tutor-led training.

You will support pupils' academic, social and emotional development, work with small groups including SEND, and help maintain an inclusive classroom while safeguarding and promoting positive behaviour.

Qualifications

• Apprentice must be kind, considerate and a good team player.
• Good basic English and maths required.
• Good computing and strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Support the academic, social, and emotional development of children within the classroom
• Assist small groups of pupils, including those with SEND, to access learning and reach their full potential
• Deliver planned intervention programmes under the guidance of the class teacher or SENCO
• Provide care and support for pupils with physical, medical, emotional or educational needs
• Engage actively in lessons, helping to move children’s learning forward
• Supervise children during playtimes and lunchtimes, promoting positive behaviour and safety
• Support in maintaining an organised and inclusive classroom environment
• Help implement individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
• Maintain accurate and confidential records as required
• Attend and participate in training and professional development opportunities
• Uphold the school’s policies and contribute to its positive and supportive ethos
