As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and other members of the wider team to support students with their learning, engagement and personal development. You will help create a calm and consistent environment where students feel supported and able to make progress.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within Alternative Provision, SEN, SEMH, mainstream education, youth work or another setting supporting young people with additional needs. You will need to be patient, resilient and confident in building positive relationships with students who may present with challenging behaviour or have experienced difficulties within traditional education.
The setting is committed to investing in its staff and offers opportunities to gain further qualifications and progress your career. If you don't currently hold a formal Teaching Assistant qualification, there may be the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship alongside your role. Those who already hold a Level 2 qualification may be supported to progress towards HLTA-level responsibilities and qualifications, depending on experience and suitability. This is therefore an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator who wants to develop their skills and build a long-term career within Alternative Provision.
