Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant - New Alternative ProvisionLocation: Towcester, NorthamptonshireStart Date: October 2026Contract: Temp-to-PermRecruitment: Booked via Tradewind RecruitmentAre you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge where you can make a genuine difference to young people who may have struggled within mainstream education?

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and other members of the wider team to support students with their learning, engagement and personal development. You will help create a calm and consistent environment where students feel supported and able to make progress.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within Alternative Provision, SEN, SEMH, mainstream education, youth work or another setting supporting young people with additional needs. You will need to be patient, resilient and confident in building positive relationships with students who may present with challenging behaviour or have experienced difficulties within traditional education.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar education, youth work or support role.
• Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, challenging behaviour or additional needs is highly desirable.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers to education.
