Job summary

Miniclip’s Playsport Games studio in Guildford is seeking a Junior Designer to help prototype, iterate, and polish gameplay features. You’ll work with Senior Designers and cross-functional teams, while contributing to QA, bug reporting, and playthrough verification.

You’ll bring a passion for games, an interest in motorsport, and a proactive, collaborative mindset to help deliver great player experiences across projects.

Qualifications

• Some experience with game design through a degree, game jam, mod, personal project, or internship.
• Familiarity with a modern game engine (Unity preferred).
• Strong understanding of what makes gameplay engaging and fun.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a collaborative team.
• A genuine enthusiasm for games and game development.
• A methodical approach to testing and attention to detail.
• A genuine interest in motorsport and racing games.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, prototyping, and balancing gameplay features and systems.
• Work closely with Design team to implement and iterate on design documentation and in-game content.
• Collaborate with Art, Programming, Production, and QA to bring features to life.
• Carry out regular hands-on QA testing across builds, identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs through to resolution.
• Verify fixes and perform regression testing on new builds and features.
• Help prepare and run internal playtests, gathering feedback to inform design decisions.
• Maintain and update design documentation as features evolve.
• Contribute ideas during brainstorms and design reviews.
• Support the team with whatever is needed to deliver the best possible player experience.
