Job summary

Holcim Ltd's Hertford Asphalt operation is seeking a Plant Operative to join a fast-paced, varied team. You will welcome customers, process orders, and operate plant control systems and mobile equipment.

Responsibilities include pre-start checks, routine maintenance, weighbridge duties, and handling customer queries. The role requires strong communication, IT literacy, weekend flexibility and a drive to learn in a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Strong IT literacy.
Flexibility with work hours and weekend work.
Desire for training and willingness to learn.
Sound appreciation of Health & Safety, housekeeping and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

Welcomes customers, up-sells products and processes orders.
Weighing vehicles at the weighbridge and producing documentation.
Mixing material with the Plant Computer and operating plant controls.
Handling internal and external queries and complaints professionally.
Carrying out pre-start checks on fixed and mobile plant; ensuring safe operation.
Carrying out routine maintenance including greasing and inspections.
Operating the loading shovel with fork attachments.
