Job summary

Holcim UK is seeking a reliable Plant Operative to join the Liverpool Asphalt Plant on a full-time, permanent basis. You will support safe and efficient asphalt production and help keep the site running smoothly on rotating day and night shifts.

Experience with weighbridge operations is preferred; full training will be provided for other areas such as loading shovel duties and asphalt mixing processes.

• Experience working on a weighbridge is beneficial.
• Willing to learn new skills and support different operational areas as required.
• Comfortable with rotating day and night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and efficient operation of the asphalt plant.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Plant Operative to join our Liverpool Asphalt Plant on a full‑time, permanent basis. This is a hands‑on operational role where you’ll support the safe and efficient production of asphalt while helping to keep the site running smoothly day to day.

You’ll work across a rotating shift pattern of Monday to Friday 05:30–15:00 and 19:00–02:00, with Saturday shifts of 06:00–12:00 and 08:00–14:00. The role includes a rotating week of days and nights, although night shifts can be more sporadic depending on operational requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, practical work and learning new skills within a busy plant environment.

Experience working on a weighbridge would be highly beneficial, and full training can be provided across other areas of the operation including loading shovel duties and asphalt mixing processes.

What You’ll be Doing

• Assisting with asphalt production, mixing operations and material handling duties

• Carrying out loading shovel operations and supporting general plant activities following training
