Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Supervisor to lead daily plant operations, ensuring safety, quality and high performance.

You will manage processing teams, coordinate material flows, and drive improvements to maximise efficiency while maintaining compliance. This role reports to the Operations Manager and requires strong leadership and technical knowledge in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Strong process and engineering knowledge in manufacturing or related environment.
• Experience supervising or managing production or processing operations.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with ability to engage and influence people at all levels.
• Experience leading, developing and motivating teams.
• Ability to prioritise workload, manage risk and make informed decisions.
• Continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all daily process activities across the plant.
• Coordinate supply and movement of raw materials, fuels and finished products.
• Work with Shift Managers to maximise plant efficiency and performance.
• Oversee operational teams and allocate resources effectively.
• Drive safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, environment and quality standards.
• Ensure maintenance plans are executed (preventive, corrective, autonomous).
• Monitor plant performance and implement improvements to increase utilisation.
• Coordinate maintenance with the Maintenance Department to minimise downtime.
• Manage inventory levels and coordinate deliveries with suppliers and hauliers.
• Produce performance reports and monitor KPIs.
• Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining safety and quality.
