Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK, a leading UK supplier of construction materials, seeks an Asphalt Plant Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations, drive safety and efficiency, and lead a skilled team at a busy site.

You will coordinate materials, maintenance, and production planning while delivering performance targets and ensuring environmental and quality standards are met. A strong lead with engineering knowledge and people skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong process and engineering knowledge within manufacturing or construction materials.
• Experience supervising or managing production teams.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and people-relations abilities.
• Experience leading and developing teams with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all day process activities across the plant.
• Coordinate supply and movement of raw materials, fuels and finished products.
• Work with Shift Managers to maximise plant efficiency and performance.
• Oversee operational teams and ensure resources are deployed effectively.
• Drive safety, environmental and quality compliance standards.
• Ensure maintenance plans are implemented and effective.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks and drive improvements.
• Coordinate maintenance with Maintenance Department to minimise downtime.
• Manage inventory and coordinate deliveries with suppliers.
• Produce performance reports and monitor KPIs.
• Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining safety and quality.
• Organise holiday and absence cover to ensure continuity.
