Job summary

Argyll and Bute Council is seeking an ASN Assistant at Bowmore Primary School in the Islay area to support children with additional support needs within the Early Learning and Childcare setting.

You will work closely with the Early Years team to provide individual and small-group support, promote communication and emotional wellbeing, and help children participate fully in daily routines, with possible personal care as needed.

Qualifications

• Patient, dependable and sensitive to the needs of young children.
• Ability to build warm, trusting relationships with children and team members.
• Experience of supporting children with additional support needs would be welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to children with additional support needs.
• Encourage communication, independence, emotional wellbeing and positive relationships.
• Support personal care, transitions and routines where needed.
