Job summary

Argyll and Bute Council is seeking an ASN Assistant at Bowmore Primary School in the Islay area to support children with additional support needs within the Early Learning and Childcare setting.

You will work closely with the Early Years team to provide individual and small-group support, promote communication and emotional wellbeing, and help children participate fully in daily routines, with possible personal care as needed.

Qualifications

• Patient, dependable and sensitive to the needs of young children.
• Ability to build warm, trusting relationships with children and team members.
• Experience of supporting children with additional support needs would be welcomed.

Bowmore Primary School ELC is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed ASN Assistant to join our nurturing and inclusive early years team.

The successful candidate will support children with additional support needs to participate fully in all aspects of ELC life. Working closely with the Early Years team and other professionals, they will help to provide a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment in which every child feels included, valued and able to make progress.

The role will involve providing individual and small-group support, encouraging communication, independence, emotional wellbeing and positive relationships. It may also include supporting children with personal care, transitions and the routines of the ELC day, according to their individual needs and support plans.

We are looking for someone who is patient, dependable and sensitive to the needs of young children. The successful candidate should be able to build warm, trusting relationships, work effectively as part of a team and respond flexibly to the changing needs of children. Experience of supporting children with additional support needs would be welcomed.
