Job summary

Argyll and Bute Council is seeking a committed Pupil Support Teacher for the Islay Area to join our Inclusion & Equality team. The role focuses on supporting pupils with ASN to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

The successful candidate will provide targeted support, work collaboratively with staff, families and external agencies, and contribute to inclusive education through training and co-teaching where appropriate. This temporary post runs until 2 July 2027.

Qualifications

• PVG Membership required for working with children
• Rehabilitation of Offenders Act exemptions (Scotland) applies
• Temporary post; possible secondment at manager's discretion

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted intervention and support for pupils with Additional Support Needs (ASN).
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, pastoral staff, families and external agencies to promote inclusive practice.
• Support development of inclusive practice through training, coaching and team teaching where appropriate
