Job summary

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver learning activities, differentiating and using specialist approaches.
• Support ASD students to fulfil academic potential.

• Keep records and evaluate progress of identified students.
• Assist in developing and implementing support plans.
• Prepare students for tasks (e.g., pre-teaching).
• Supervise practical tasks as required.
• Conduct structured classroom assessments and feedback.
• Assist scholars with physical needs.
• Support meeting scholars' needs under supervision.

ASD Teaching Assistant (ASDTAgreenwichsecond) South East London, England

Pay Rate:£100 - £117 per day (subject to experience and qualifications).

Hours:This role is both full-time and part-time and during school hours, term-time only.

We are working with many reputable SEN schools across the South East London who require teachers, teaching assistants, and cover supervisors. We are currently hiring for a teaching assistant with SEN experience, particularly experience specialising in Autism. The role will involve providing support to pupils with Autism of both primary and secondary ages and can be on either a part- or full-time basis.

Responsibilities include:

• To plan and deliver learning activities to children and young people, differentiating, modifying and using specialist activities and approaches according to children or young people's responses/needs.
• To support students with ASD to fulfil their academic potential.
• To support all pupils, and particularly those with ASD to play a full role in the life of the school, building their confidence and self-esteem
• To be involved in keeping records and evaluating identified students’ progress.
• To assist with the development and implementation of support plans.
• To prepare students beforehand for a task, e.g. pre-teaching
• To supervise practical tasks.
• To carry out structured classroom assessment/observation and feedback outcomes.
• Assist scholars with physical needs.
• Under the direction of appropriate professionals and after adequate training, to assist in meeting particular scholars’ needs, e.g. physical development, speech/language development, and medical needs identified in an approved care plan agreed by parents
