Long Term Futures Ltd is recruiting an ASD Teaching Assistant for a long-term role in Kenilworth. You will provide 1:1 support to KS2 pupils with ASD, PDA and ADHD, working with the class teacher, SENCO and SEND team to implement individualised learning plans.

The role is term-time, with a view to permanence for the right candidate, and involves supporting pupils to access learning, manage emotions, and develop greater independence while maintaining a calm, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD, PDA and ADHD.
  • Experience in a UK primary school and knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • 1:1 support with adaptable approaches to meet each pupil's needs.
  • Experience delivering targeted interventions 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Strong behaviour management and a calm, nurturing learning environment.
  • Ability to monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP targets.

ASD Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Kenilworth, Coventry
  • Weekly Pay: 500 - 525
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (term time only)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Long-term, with the potential to become permanent

Long Term Futures are seeking a patient, compassionate and experienced ASD Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner mainstream primary schools in the Kenilworth area.

This is a 1:1 support role working with pupils across Key Stage 2 who have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and ADHD. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to provide consistent, individualised support, helping pupils access learning, manage their emotions and develop greater independence.

The role is offered on a long-term basis, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

What the school is looking for:
  • Experience: Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly ASD, PDA and ADHD.
  • School Experience: Experience working within a UK primary school and a good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • 1:1 Support: Confidence providing individual support and adapting your approach to meet each pupil's needs.
  • Interventions: Experience delivering targeted interventions on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
  • Behaviour Support: Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to provide a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
  • Progress Monitoring: Confidence monitoring pupil progress, providing feedback and working towards individual learning and EHCP targets.
