Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an ASD Mentor to support autistic learners across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 mentoring.

Start date September; hours flexible; you will work with children and young people with ASD to engage with education, build confidence and independence, and help them achieve positive outcomes in Crawley, Worthing, Horsham, Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.

DBS required or willingness to obtain one; driving is preferred to travel locally within West Sussex.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including mentoring, teaching, tutoring, learning support, teaching assistant, youth work, or similar roles.
• Experience supporting children and young people with ASD.
• Understanding of autism-friendly and relationship-based approaches.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, calm, and adaptable approach.
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; travel locally within West Sussex.
