Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an ASD Mentor to support children and young people across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 mentoring. You will work on behalf of Local Authorities to help learners engage with education, develop confidence, build independence, and achieve positive outcomes.

Flexible hours with a September start, offering meaningful 1:1 mentoring opportunities and the chance to make a real difference to young people’s lives through autism-friendly, relationship-based approaches.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including mentoring, teaching, tutoring, learning support, teaching assistant, youth work, or similar roles.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with ASD.
  • Understanding of autism-friendly and relationship-based approaches.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within West Sussex.

ASD Mentor

Support Autistic Learners Through Meaningful 1:1 Mentoring

We're looking for an ASD Mentor to support children and young people across West Sussex through personalised 1:1 mentoring.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who require additional support to engage with education, develop confidence, build independence, and achieve positive outcomes. Many of the young people we work with benefit from consistent, relationship-led support from a trusted adult who understands their individual needs and strengths.

We're particularly interested in mentors who can support learners in:

  • Crawley
  • Worthing
  • Horsham
  • Chichester
  • Bognor Regis
  • Littlehampton

Location: West Sussex

Role: ASD Mentor

Start Date: September

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: 25- 30 per hour

Type: 1:1 Mentoring

Requirements
