Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is supporting a leading environmental services provider in their search for an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join the team covering Watford and the surrounding region. You will carry out surveys, sample asbestos as needed, and produce reports for a varied portfolio of properties.

The role offers a basic salary of £32,000–£40,000 (DOE) with earning potential around £46,000 including overtime, plus a company vehicle and pension.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an asbestos surveyor.
• Strong knowledge of HSG264 and current asbestos legislation.
• Experience surveying commercial and public sector properties.
• Able to work independently in the field and manage own diary.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition asbestos surveys according to HSG264.
• Conduct bulk asbestos sampling across various property types.
• Produce clear, accurate and compliant survey reports.
• Work across a mixed portfolio of commercial and public sector sites.
• Liaise professionally with clients, contractors and site reps.
• Maintain accurate electronic records and survey documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with current asbestos legislation and guidance.

The Role

Carrying out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys in accordance with HSG264

Conducting bulk asbestos sampling across a range of property types

Producing clear, accurate, and compliant asbestos survey reports

Working across a varied portfolio of commercial and public sector properties

Managing your own diary and field-based workload effectively

Liaising professionally with clients, contractors, and site representatives

Maintaining accurate electronic records and survey documentation

Ensuring all work complies with current asbestos legislation and HSE guidance

About You

Previous experience working as an Asbestos Surveyor

Strong knowledge of HSG264 and current asbestos legislation

Experience surveying a range of commercial and public sector properties

Confident working independently in a field-based position

Strong communication and report-writing skills

Professional, organised, and reliable

Full UK driving licence
