Future Select Recruitment is seeking a skilled Asbestos Laboratory Manager to lead an established Glasgow laboratory. You will oversee daily operations, ensure timely analysis and maintain UKAS accreditation while directing a team of Analysts.

The role requires hands-on asbestos analysis to UKAS standards, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety and quality. Part-time or full-time applicants are considered, with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working as an Asbestos Laboratory Manager and/or Supervisor.
• Must be qualified with the BOHS P401 as a minimum.
• Beneficial to hold further BOHS/RSPH modules.
• Strong experience managing teams of Laboratory staff.
• Excellent industry technical knowledge.
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Confident communicator.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily operations within a UKAS accredited Asbestos Laboratory.
• Supervising teams to ensure works run smoothly.
• Providing training and technical support to Analysts.
• Conducting auditing and quality assurance checks.
• Upholding UKAS accreditation through successful Laboratory management.
• Allocating workloads efficiently.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, handling complaints and queries.
• Recording analysis results on an internal database.
• Organising maintenance/repairs of Laboratory equipment.
• Adhering to ISO 17025 and UKAS guidelines.
• Monitoring staff performance and conducting personal review meetings.
• Maintaining strong working relationships with clients.

Salary/Benefits: £27k - £33k + Training & Benefits

A growing Asbestos Laboratory is seeking an experienced and professional Laboratory Manager to join their successful outfit. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience of analysing asbestos samples to UKAS standards, and will utilise their knowledge in order to confidently lead a team on a daily basis. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring deadlines are met and safety standards are maintained. We are seeking someone with excellent communication and time management skills, who will fit in well with an established team. We can consider both full-time and part-time applications for this position. Our client is offering competitive salaries and benefits packages.
