Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting on behalf of a major housing provider to lead asbestos compliance across a large residential stock. You will drive survey programmes, oversee contractor management and ensure all statutory obligations are met to protect residents and stakeholders.

You will provide technical guidance, review survey findings, manage asbestos removal, maintain registers and produce KPI reports, contributing to policy development and service improvement.

Qualifications

• BOHS P402 and P405 qualifications required.
• Strong knowledge of asbestos legislation and housing compliance.
• Experience managing asbestos surveys and contractor activities.
• Experience in social housing, local authorities, or regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the management and delivery of asbestos compliance activities across residential housing stock.
• Undertake and commission asbestos surveys within occupied and void properties.
• Provide technical guidance and expert advice on asbestos-related matters.
• Review survey findings and determine appropriate remedial actions.
• Oversee asbestos removal and remediation contractors, including quality inspections and site audits.
• Attend project planning and mobilisation meetings with contractors and surveyors.
• Manage asbestos-related complaints and resident enquiries professionally and sensitively.
• Maintain accurate compliance records and asbestos registers.
• Produce performance reports, monitor KPIs and identify compliance risks.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
• Support procurement and management of specialist asbestos contractors and consultants.
• Contribute towards policy development, service improvement and compliance strategies.

• Experience undertaking, commissioning or managing asbestos surveys.
• Experience working within social housing, local authorities, property services or regulated environments.
• Ability to analyse compliance data and produce meaningful reports.
• Excellent stakeholder management and resident engagement skills.
• Experience managing specialist contractors and compliance programmes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the portfolio.
