Tetra Tech Europe is seeking an Asbestos Consultant in Guildford to deliver UKAS accredited asbestos surveys and consultancy services. You will plan and execute surveys, ensuring compliance with regulations while producing accurate reports. This hybrid role allows for site-based and remote work, with flexible arrangements including three or four-day weeks and opportunities for overtime.
The ideal candidate will have relevant BOHS qualifications and experience in a UKAS accredited setting, capable of leading projects and collaborating effectively with various stakeholders.
Bring your technical precision to a role that directly protects people and assets. Join a quality driven team delivering UKAS accredited asbestos surveys, air monitoring and consultancy across complex commercial and industrial estates. You’ll apply robust methodology, produce defensible reporting and give pragmatic guidance that helps clients confidently manage asbestos risk to regulatory standards and recognised best practice.
We have multiple roles available that will cover locations across the Southeast and London. In addition to the very competitive salary and overtime rates, we also offer a company car or a car allowance, giving you the flexibility and support you need for your role.
The role safeguards operational environments by delivering technically rigorous asbestos consultancy across a varied portfolio of live sites and development projects. You will plan and execute asbestos surveys, air monitoring and analytical verification, while producing clear, accurate and auditable reports that stand up to scrutiny. Working both independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams, you will interact closely with clients, asbestos removal contractors, accredited laboratories and internal colleagues to ensure work is executed safely, proportionately and in line with UK regulatory requirements and UKAS standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support single site assignments as well as complex, multi‑location projects for major commercial and industrial properties.
From day one, you’ll consolidate and extend your technical capability across surveying, analysis and consultancy, supported by structured training and mentoring. As you progress, you’ll take ownership of more complex client portfolios, lead on project delivery and broaden your advisory remit in asbestos management and compliance. Longer term, the role provides a defined pathway into senior consultancy, technical leadership or project management, with ongoing professional development underpinning your career trajectory.
You will hold relevant BOHS modules, including P402, P403 and P404, or recognised RSPH equivalents, with proven experience delivering asbestos activities within a UKAS accredited organisation. You have a full UK driving licence and a track record of producing compliant, high‑quality work across surveys, air monitoring and consultancy.
This is a hybrid role combining site‑based surveying and air monitoring with remote or office‑based analysis, reporting and collaboration. Site visits are planned in advance to support workload balance and operational readiness. Office attendance is expected periodically for team collaboration, training, quality reviews and project meetings, with frequency aligned to project needs. You will travel to client locations as required and, on occasion, support activities outside standard hours. We support flexible arrangements, including three or four‑day working weeks. Overtime opportunities may be available and are remunerated at enhanced rates.
In alignment with the Equality Act 2010, we will make reasonable adjustments to support candidates and employees requiring additional arrangements. This could include adaptations to work schedules, training approaches, or the physical workspace. Please inform us if you need any accommodations during the recruitment process or in your day‑to‑day role.
