Job summary

Barton Peveril Sixth Form College is seeking an Art Studio Assistant (Textiles) to join the busy Art Department in Eastleigh. You will help run a dynamic textiles studio, display student work, and support teachers with demonstrations and inductions on sewing machines and heat presses.

We value self-motivation, good IT and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced educational environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for an Art Studio Assistant (Textiles) to join our exceptional Art Department.

You will be an art practitioner who is self-motivated and understands the nature of busy art studios. You will have experience of displaying work and be confident to support teachers and provide initial inductions such as how to use a sewing machine or heat press safely. You will have competent IT skills as well as good written and verbal communication skills. You must be hard-working, enthusiastic, patient, flexible and willing to learn. You will be expected to work on your own initiative and also as part of the larger team.
