Job summary

Crew Clothing Company is seeking a Design Assistant - Sportswear in Kingston-upon-Thames. The role supports design tasks, presentations, archiving and studio maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

The position is Full-Time with four days in the office. A degree in fashion design or related field is required, and strong CAD/Adobe skills are essential to support designers in developing range plans and artwork for suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in fashion designs or related.

Responsibilities

• Sample management – keep samples organised on hangers and rails in studio and backroom archive.
• Travel admin – costings and booking travel and accommodation for design team.
• Design Studio – maintain organisation within the studio and suggest improvements for a better creative environment.
• General office duties – filing, post, answering telephone calls, monitoring stationery stock levels.
• Notetaking during presentations if required.
• Setting up room for meetings and presentations.
• Chasing up samples from suppliers.
• Setting up product boards and maintaining files.

Design Assistant - Sportswear
Full-Time (4 days in office)

Purpose of the role

To support and assist the team in theadministration of design tasks, presentations, archiving and studiomaintenance.

Responsibilities:

Administration:

• Samplemanagement – keep samples organised on hangers and rails in studio and backroom archive


• Traveladmin – costings and booking travel and accommodation for design team


• DesignStudio – keep good organisation within the studio and recommend betterways to a better creative environment


• Generaloffice duties – filing, post, answering telephone calls, monitoringstationary stock levels


• Notetaking during presentations if required


• Assistin setting up room for meetings and presentations


• Assistingon chasing up samples from suppliers


• Settingup product boards and maintaining

Design

• Research– internet and external research on current trends and styling. Keep aconstant library of reference for the designers to pull off


• Rangeplans – keep range plans up to date and ready for sign-off meetings, butin liaison with artworker so work is not duplicated


• BasicCAD and colouring in Adobe CS4 to support designers and maintain therange plans


• Artworking– briefs set by designers to produce basic stripes, checks and prints.Prepare signed off artwork for suppliers (factory sheets and CD’s)


• Fabric and trim folder library – maintain good organization/archive of the fabric and relevant file systems. Responsible for sendingcolour to suppliers


• Working with designers to update lab dip file


• Product Development – support designers oncommunicating with suppliers on the product development cycle, eg. sendingout packs, sending approvals of fabrics/colour/trim


• Organizing the filing of product development documentation

Key Skills and Experience

Degree or equivalent qualification in fashion designs orrelated

• Excellent Computer skills in CAD, Adobe, Illustrator, Excel and other related programmes


• Good eye for detail ,organised and pride in work


• Must be a good team player


• A keen interest in fashion, design and the market place


• Thrives on working in a fast paced environment
