Job summary

Freedom Leisure is seeking an Area Swim Manager to lead and inspire pool programmes across the South Somerset contract. You’ll oversee Learn to Swim development, optimise pool space, and build local partnerships with groups, clubs and schools.

The role blends Swim Program Management with Swim Teaching, requiring leadership to ensure deadlines, targets and site support are met. 37 hours weekly across a rota, with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• To design, maintain, monitor and report back on a financially viable swimming lesson programme that meets the needs of the centre customers, schools, and pre-schoolers
• To ensure the smooth administrative running of the swim school
• To organise and communicate the swimming teacher rota in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all lessons are covered by authorised staff
• To organise the work carried out by swimming teachers
• To assist in the recruitment of the swimming teachers
• Mobility to travel across sites within the contract

Responsibilities

• Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (rota basis)
• Closing Date: 2nd October 2026
• Salary: up to £30,000 per annum
