Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an experienced Area Site Technician to join our facilities management team in South London. You will maintain and repair electrical, mechanical plant and equipment across retail sites, performing regular planned store visits and handling reactive tasks as requested by the customer.

The ideal candidate has strong fault-finding skills, holds relevant electrical qualifications, and can safely carry out PPMs and non-electrical tasks across multiple sites while

Qualifications

• Proven electrical maintenance experience in commercial or retail environments.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to diagnose faults and implement efficient repair solutions.

Responsibilities

• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules within agreed timescales with accurate documentation.
• Deliver reactive and planned maintenance on catering and bakery equipment.
• Carry out emergency lighting and fire alarm testing, maintenance and repairs.
• Undertake general building repairs across customer sites.
• Diagnose faults in plant and equipment and recommend replacement solutions.
• Ensure work complies with safety regulations and standards.

Job description

Job Title: Area Site Technician

Location: South London

Pay Range/details: £43,926.90 per annum (salary including on call standby 1:4)

Contract Type: Permanent

Omega are supporting a leading facilities management provider in the recruitment of an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the team to work on a leading supermarket contracts. The role will involve maintaining and repairing a range of electrical, mechanical plant and equipment in retail outlets, undertaking regular planned store visits to complete reactive, PPMs and minor repairs as requested by the customer (including non-electrical).

Key Responsibilities

• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules within agreed timescales, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
• Deliver both reactive and planned maintenance on catering and bakery equipment.
• Carry out emergency lighting and fire alarm testing, maintenance, and repairs.
• Undertake general building repairs and maintenance as required across customer sites.
• Diagnose faults in plant and equipment, identifying non-repairable issues and recommending suitable replacement solutions.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with relevant regulations and standards.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition qualification.
• AM2 and/or 2391 certification.
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial or retail environment.

Ideal Candidate

• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience using PDA/mobile job management systems.
• Ability to maintain and repair a broad range of electrical and mechanical equipment, including commercial catering and bakery equipment.
• Previous experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance in a retail or multi-site environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
