Job Opportunity: Area Sales Manager

There has never been a more exciting time to join the team. Smallridge Bros Ltd has a requirement for a full-time Area Sales Manager for the Barnstaple depot. The salary depends on experience and includes our generous commission and bonus structure. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate seeking a long-term career with a rewarding company.

Job Function:

The role is full-time, based at our Barnstaple depot in North Devon, within a dedicated sales area. The responsibilities include selling new and used agricultural equipment to new and existing customers within the area. Some sales experience and negotiating skills are advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Essential Duties:
  1. Represent Smallridge Bros in the sale of machinery to customers.
  2. Follow the sales process to achieve high sales performance using available tools from John Deere.
  3. Maintain current knowledge of features and benefits of all equipment.
  4. Stay informed about financing options.
  5. Conduct new equipment field demonstrations.
  6. Ensure smooth delivery and follow-up care for customers.
  7. Build strong and loyal relationships with customers.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of equipment sales experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • A good understanding of farm machinery and agriculture.
  • Good IT skills and basic knowledge of agricultural technology (manufacturer training will be provided).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to build long-term customer relationships.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve issues promptly.
