Area Sales Manager

South East - candidates can be based anywhere in the Kent/Sussex and Hampshire regions!

Salary: GBP50,000-GBP55,000 + Company Car + Commission Bonus

Location: Remote (Travel to customer sites)

Our client is a leading industrial assembly & manufacturing company within street lighting, known for product quality and industry standards. They seek a charismatic, driven, and hands-on Area Sales Manager to build on success and improvements.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Meet designated area targets for revenue and gross profit.
2. Conduct regular phone sales calls and visits to existing customers.
3. Identify and develop new customers and market opportunities in coordination with the National Sales Manager and Sales & Marketing Director.
4. Provide customers with support and relevant information.
5. Maintain records of customer interactions and submit regular reports.
6. Collaborate with other sales team members to enhance customer support and sales opportunities.
7. Represent the company professionally.
8. Participate in industry events like ILP, HEMSA to strengthen customer relationships and stay informed about market trends.
9. Assist in organizing company events, including customer invitations.
10. Contribute to business planning and sales strategy development with the National Sales Manager.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

1. Strong sales skills with experience in customer account management, especially in street lighting, electrical markets, and specification sales.
2. Familiarity with Local Authority tenders, infrastructure industries (e.g., rail), and selling CMS or LED products.
3. Goal-oriented, organized, presentable, and enthusiastic about a long-term career with CEL.
4. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
5. Willing to travel to HQ, attend meetings, exhibitions, and stay overnight when required.
