Traditional sales roles often focus solely on new business. This opportunity is different; you will start with long-standing existing accounts to leverage, allowing you to make an immediate impact. Of course, securing new customers will also be part of your responsibilities.

As the Area Sales Manager for Viscofan, you will play a key role in the company's growth by building, managing, and expanding relationships. Ideally, you will have experience selling solutions into the food production sector or some familiarity with the food industry.

The Business:

With over 50 years of history, Viscofan is the world’s market leader in its product portfolio for the food production sector. Known for high-quality products and excellent service, they supply major food businesses across the UK. You will have the flexibility to plan and manage your workday independently, focusing on building high-level relationships with key customers to cross-sell, upsell, and increase turnover and commitment from major food producers.

What You Will Do:

This is a home-based role requiring regular national customer visits. You will support the Head of Sales in developing new product streams with existing clients and securing new customer relationships. We seek an ambitious, commercially savvy, self-motivated candidate eager to learn new skills.

  • Develop growth strategies and plans
  • Manage and retain relationships with existing clients
  • Negotiate with stakeholders
  • Identify, map, and pursue new business opportunities
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of business products and value propositions
  • Draft and review contracts
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships, including with overseas offices

What You Will Need:

• Proven experience selling into the food production sector

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Experience in developing and implementing business development strategies

• Self-motivation and drive

• Track record of setting, working towards, and exceeding targets
