Job summary

kff is seeking an Area Sales Manager to cover Chelmsford, Braintree, Stansted with a homebased/field sales model. You will be responsible for winning and expanding independent foodservice business in your area, delivering profitable growth and building strong local relationships.

You will onboard new customers, retain existing accounts, and work closely with clients to understand their growth plans, offering practical solutions and local value.

Qualifications

• Experience in winning new business and growing existing accounts.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis for sales planning.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop your territory, delivering profitable volume growth vs targets.
• Research target audiences and opportunities within the territory.
• Build and leverage relationships through face-to-face meetings and ongoing engagement.
• Onboard new customers and nurture existing accounts for long-term success.
• Collaborate with customers to understand growth plans and offer solutions.
• Monitor competitor activity and propose best local value to customers.

Up to £39,500+ with bonuses, company car or car allowance & home-based contract

What you will be doing:

You will be solely responsible for the success of your own territory by achieving the following:

• Gain, grow and retain customers delivering profitable volume growth Vs targets
• Research your target audience and opportunities in your territory.
• Build and leverage strong customer relationships with your territory and community through constant selling, face to face meetings and understanding the customer needs
• Onboard new customers effectively & successfully whilst ensuring close working relationships with existing accounts and track activity.
• Effectively partner your customers to understand their plans for growth, adding value, offering a wide range of practical solutions and products.
• Understand competitor activity & proposals, ensuring you are always offering your customers the best local solutions

What we are looking for:

• Ability to win new business and maximise sales opportunities with existing customers.
• Commercially astute with strong business awareness.
• Technically proficient in Excel.
• Skilled at building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• A genuine passion for sales.
• Experience or knowledge of the food industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
