Job summary

BardWood Support Services is seeking an Area Relief Officer in Doncaster. The role is site-based within the public sector, with day shifts Monday to Friday, 08:45 to 17:15, and a pay rate of £13.45 per hour.

You will provide relief cover across locations in a region, ensure safety and service quality, and maintain a welcoming environment for staff and visitors. Full UK driving license and SIA licensure are essential.

Qualifications

• SIA Licence required.
• Full UK driving license and access to own transport.
• 5-year checkable work history.
• Experience in customer-facing environments.
• Physically fit and able to work under pressure.
• Flexible attitude and security/system competence.

Responsibilities

• Provide relief cover and support to locations within a region.
• Deliver services per site guidance and instructions.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.
• Be proactively present in public areas; act as first point of contact.
• Resolve conflicts at client premises with a team.
• Ensure compliance with site rules and guidance.
• Use initiative and involve others if situations threaten safety.
• Maintain smart appearance and visible security presence.
• Provide First Aid when needed (training provided).
• Submit legible incident reports when incidents occur.
• Keep a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.

About the role:

Title – Area Relief Officer

Pay Rate – £13.45 per hour

Location – Doncaster

Shift Timings – Day shifts - Monday to Friday, 08:45 to 17:15

You will be working in a site-based role within the public sector, where officers are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of both staff and visitors.

Your main responsibilities may include:

• Trained to provide relief cover and support to a portfolio of locations within a geographical region.
• All the tasks and activities as per the site operational guidance and Assignment Instructions. Provide quality service delivery.
• Manage and maintain a safe environment for the client’s staff and customers.
• Provide a proactive presence in all public facing areas as activity requires. This will include providing a positive initial reception for clients and directional guidance.
• Working directly with the customer as part of a team to provide conflict resolution at our client’s premises where there is potential for conflict.
• Working closely with your fellow colleagues to ensure members of the public comply with site rules and guidance.
• Use common sense and initiative immediately involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
• To have a smart appearance, always be alert and visible whilst commanding a security presence within the customer premises
• Be able to administer First Aid assistance if a member of public or client’s staff was to be suddenly taken unwell (training will be provided)
• Complete legible incident report writing if and when an incident arises.
• Work to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for everyone.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

• SIA License.
• Full UK driving license.
• 5-year checkable work/career history.
• Full driving license and access to own transport is essential.
• Prior experience of working in a customer-facing environment and dealing directly with staff/customers.
• Physically fit to undertake given tasks.
• Possess the ability to work under pressure.
• Flexible attitude and the ability to adapt.
• Security and operational system competence
