Job summary

Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking an Area Operations Manager to lead response-based services across the South Yorkshire CBU. You will manage Team Leaders, drive workforce planning, quality, governance and risk, and coordinate on-call tactical command.

You will work with senior colleagues to deliver area objectives, align A&E and emergency operations with strategic goals, and develop performance reporting to inform decisions.

Qualifications

• Must have NHS/A&E operations leadership experience.
• Experience in coordinating multiple frontline teams under time pressure.
• Strong evidence of delivering workforce planning and governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and line management to Team Leaders within the area.
• Ensure robust workforce strategies for A&E in the area, aligned to the wider organisation.
• Undertake a Tactical Command role as part of the Trust’s on-call rota.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to achieve area objectives and KPIs.
• Develop team initiatives and drive change in consultation with the Deputy Head of Operations.
• Work with clinical colleagues to ensure clinical competence of the team.
• Prepare concise management information to inform strategic decisions and measure performance.
