Reporting to: Regional Operations Manager – Scotland & Northern Ireland
Base: Home based – Northern Ireland
Hours: Monday to Friday, from 9.00am till 5.00pm (total 35 hours per week). Flexibility required, including evenings and occasional weekends.

What you’ll do:
Support RHA members and promote RHA policies in Northern Ireland through engagement and outreach.
Main duties include:
- Recruiting and retaining members through face-to-face contact and local engagement.
- Supporting members with issues like the Windsor Framework, decarbonisation, freight crime.
- Providing feedback to RHA regional and policy teams.
- Visiting and advising members on employment, compliance, and technical issues.
- Supporting event planning for regional briefings and initiatives.
- Presenting complex issues during RHA briefings and at regional council meetings.
- Advising on suitable RHA training and compliance products.
- Engaging with external organizations for campaigns and projects.
- Implementing and disseminating RHA policies.
- Engaging with stakeholders and supporting policy efforts.
- Enhancing RHA’s reputation through positive engagement.
- Participating in meetings with organizations interfacing with RHA.
- Identifying PR and media opportunities and participating in media interviews.
- Promoting RHA’s products to members and the industry.
Required knowledge and experience:
- Understanding of operational legislation (O’Licence, Tachograph Records, Drivers Hours), employment relations, and commercial matters.
- Ability to interpret and support less common issues, with suggestions for service improvements encouraged.
- Knowledge of RHA’s campaigns for legislative change and ability to promote these.
- Transport Manager CPC qualification in Road Haulage Operations is desirable.
- Understanding of passenger transport (coaches) is desirable.
General Administration:
- Prompt handling of inquiries following SLA standards.
- Establishing a program of visits to members and customers for effective coverage.
- Identifying and following up on concerns from members and customers.
- Keeping detailed records via RHA CRM systems.
- Managing membership data and financial reporting, focusing on non-renewals.
Other Duties:
- Occasional duties outside the region and overnight stays may be required.
- Conducting compliance audits as needed.
- Engaging with individuals seeking access to the industry, including directing them to funding, researching data, and member visits.
