Job summary

Glen Group in Dorchester seeks an experienced Area Cleaning Supervisor to support our Contract Cleaning Manager across a portfolio of sites including public toilets, offices, and schools in the Dorchester area.

You will work five days out of seven, across 7am–9pm with average 37.5 hours per week and one weekend on, one weekend off. Full UK driving licence and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in the cleaning industry is essential.
• Full UK driving licence with at least 1 year of driving experience; must be 21+ for insurance.
• Flexibility with working hours and shifts.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover staff sickness and holidays at short notice.
• Provide weekend coverage as required.
• Plan site visits and staff holiday schedules.
• Manage and resolve on-site issues.
• Carry out cleaning audits with clients.
• Build strong client relationships through regular communication.
• Visit and support on-site cleaning teams.
• Train new starters and deliver refresher training to existing staff.
• Work closely with Service Delivery Manager.
• Cover Contract Manager during annual leave.

Job description

We're looking for an experienced Area Cleaning Supervisor to join our team, supporting our Contract Cleaning Manager across a varied portfolio of sites including 5 public toilets, offices, and schools in the Dorchester area ( Dorset ).

About the Role

Due to varying shift patterns across our portfolio, you'll need to be available to work 5 days out of 7, between 7am and 9pm, Monday to Sunday (average 37.5 hrs/week). 1 weekend cover on 1 following weekend off.

Key Responsibilities

• Covering staff sickness and holidays at short notice
• Weekend coverage as required
• Planning site visits and staff holiday schedules
• Managing and resolving on-site issues
• Carrying out cleaning audits with clients
• Building strong client relationships through regular communication
• Visiting and supporting on-site cleaning teams
• Training new starters and delivering refresher training to existing staff
• Working closely with our Service Delivery Manager
• Covering for the Contract Manager during annual leave

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in the cleaning industry, including supervisory experience (essential)
• Full UK driving licence, minimum 1 year's driving experience, and aged 21+ (required for insurance purposes)
• Flexibility with working hours
• Strong communication and organisational skills
