Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a qualified Architect or similar to lead design teams and take responsibility as the Principal Designer under the Building Safety Act and CDM regulations. The role requires ensuring full compliance of designs with and maintaining the "golden thread" of safety information.

The successful candidate will coordinate with designers, contractors and clients across housing projects, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and high-quality design outcomes throughout the project

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of the Building Regulations and Approved Documents.
• Experience coordinating design teams and managing client relationships.
• Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and their integration with new Building Regulations.
• Projects include Housing/Residential/Social Housing with training, development, benefits, flexible working and a great culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance: Take reasonable steps to ensure the design complies with all relevant building regulations and safety standards.
• Principal Designer (BR): Act as the lead design dutyholder, planning, managing, and monitoring design work from RIBA Stage 2 onwards.
• Safety Coordination: Review fire safety, structural integrity, and building regulations compliance at every stage.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records, technical specifications, and compliance declarations to meet requirements.
• Coordination: Actively manage and cooperate with other designers, contractors, and clients to ensure design integrity and safe construction.

Required Competencies & Qualifications

• Demonstrable knowledge of the and Approved Documents.
• Experience in coordinating design teams and managing client relationships.
