Job summary

Amey is seeking an Architect to lead architectural delivery within a multidisciplinary team across diverse sectors. You will own designs, drawings and technical deliverables while mentoring junior staff and engaging with clients to support project delivery and business development.

The role emphasises design quality, regulatory compliance and collaboration across disciplines to achieve project goals and safe, sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate Diploma in Architectural Practice accredited to RIBA Part 3.
• Registered Architect with ARB or working toward registration.
• Developing experience in an architectural role, likely as Assistant Architect.
• Ability to apply architectural theory to practical project challenges.
• Experience preparing and reviewing designs, drawings and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of planning processes and Building Regulations.
• Good understanding of CDM Regulations and risk assessment.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery requirements.
• Chartered Membership of RIBA.
• Experience in multidisciplinary consultancy environments.
• Experience across Defence, Justice, Education, Rail, Transport or Commercial sectors.
• Experience across multiple RIBA stages and BIM/digital design.
• Experience supporting fee proposals and bids; line management experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce technically sound architectural solutions that comply with client requirements and standards.
• Prepare and check designs, drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
• Own architectural deliverables, ensuring quality, cost and programme targets.
• Supervise and support junior team members.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers and respond to queries.
• Coordinate design information with other disciplines for integrated delivery.
• Manage workload and day-to-day activities of a small technical team when required.
• Contribute to bid submissions and business development activities.
• Support project risks management and health and safety compliance.
• Undertake site visits and surveys, including occasional site-based assignments.
• Support delivery across diverse sectors and clients.
• Mentor and train junior staff.
