Job summary

Civic Engineers seeks a Project Officer to lead archaeological fieldwork delivery across the Home Counties and Greater London. Hybrid working in the South East, with studio attendance part of the week and site work as required.

You will supervise field teams, manage client liaison, and produce technical reports to high professional standards. Applicants should have experience on varied UK sites, GIS/CAD/database proficiency, first aid and a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication required.
• Experience with UK archaeological sites and reporting.
• Proficiency with GIS/CAD/database systems.
• First aid and driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site logistics including staff, subcontractors, plant and welfare.
• Supervise fieldwork teams and provide technical guidance.
• Maintain accurate project records, site documentation and health and safety compliance.
• Ensure fieldwork quality meets professional and company standards.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and local planning archaeologists.
• Manage own time and on-site team.
• Contribute to report writing and project administration.
